As a Navy Reserve Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer (MCWO), you will deliver warfighting capabilities through cyberspace, planning and executing operations that protect Navy networks and deliver offensive effects against adversaries. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute defensive cyberspace operations to protect Navy networks and systems from adversaries.

- Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO): Protect Navy systems and networks from cyber threats.
- Computer Network Operations (CNO): Execute operations to exploit and disrupt adversary networks.
- Cyber Exploitation Analysis: Analyze cyber vulnerabilities and develop strategies to exploit adversary systems.
- Cyber Protection Teams (CPTs): Lead teams responsible for defending critical infrastructure from cyber threats.

The US Navy Reserve prioritizes your professional growth. As a newly commissioned Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer, you’ll participate in specialized training, including:
- Officer Development School
- Cyberspace Operations Planner Course

Career Advancement:
As a Navy Reserve Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer, you will have the opportunity for challenging assignments in cyber operations, including roles as watch officers, team leaders, planners, and mission commanders. Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking highly motivated professionals with expertise in cybersecurity and cyber operations. Ideal candidates meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Dual citizenship (U.S. and another country) is not necessarily disqualifying.
- Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and less than 42 years old at the time of commissioning. Prior qualifying service will be considered for year-for-year credit up to age 50. Waivers beyond age 54 will not be considered.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0, preferably in fields related to cybersecurity, computer science, network administration, cloud computing, or information systems. Exceptional candidates with a GPA of 2.7 or above may request a waiver.
- Work Experience: Prior civilian or military experience in cyber security, vulnerability research, incident response, or related fields is strongly preferred.
- Security Clearance: Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. You do not need to have this clearance at the time of application, but you will need to complete a pre-nomination interview with the local special security officer to assess your eligibility. Applicants must also be willing to undergo a Counter-Intelligence Polygraph.
